Risks and Challenges?
The risks in regard to production are minimal since the artwork and design of the book are complete. Any risk will be in the printing and delivery timelines. We are working with a printer that we’ve worked with many times before, so we’re confident that our printer can hit our timelines, but any number of things can go wrong between printing, shipping, and delivery. We are taking steps to minimize all the above risk by working with a printer we’ve worked with many times before and working with fulfillment companies that we’ve utilized on other projects.

What if I've never played the game? Will I be able to understand what's going on?
Absolutely! While we love the games and the fans of the games, and we will give those fans what they love with easter eggs and connections to those games, we are also very committed that every book from Outrider be a great jumping-on point for new fans! Each book will establish everything you need to know to enjoy the story, without having played the games or read other books from us. That’s our promise!

Can you tell me more about what's in the book and how these books will work?
Dead Man’s Hand contains all four one-shots initially published by Image comics. Each one-shot is a stand-alone story by a different creative team and is a complete story in and of itself. We’ve now also added two stand-alone short stories as well as an Artist’s Sketchbook and Game Supplement section.
This hardcover is Deadlands Volume 1 - future volumes will collect other one-shots and mini-series that are stand-alone adventures, so each book will have complete stories, so you won’t have to have read previous volumes to enjoy the one you’re getting.
We will also be releasing ongoing series that will have their own hardcover volumes and collected editions, which will be numbered separately.

What are the details on the prints and will adding them impact shipping?
All the prints will be mini-prints and roughly 6x9 or similar in size to the book, which will make for easier shipping and a marginal, at best, impact on shipping costs.

Can you tell me more about the playing cards?
The card decks are a standard deck of playing cards that come shrink-wrapped and in a sturdy, clear, plastic carrying case. All the cards have an aged effect, and the face cards feature cover art from the four one-shots collected in Dead Man’s Hand.
Finally, the cards from the infamous Wild Bill Hickok Dead Man’s Hand are marked in blood to be played as a special high hand in poker.

What is the deal with The Cackler?
When Visionary Comics held the license to Deadlands, they produced three collections. The third was The Cackler. As a special bonus to this campaign, we are offering our in-house stock of the original collections, before Outrider releases a new edition into the book market later this year. They are discounted for their tiers and normal cover price as add-ons.

Who is The Kid?
One of the original Visionary Comics’ stories introduced the Deadlands version of Billy the Kid as a 14-year old monster hunter. As part of our new deal, we’ve been planning to relaunch The Kid as our first Deadlands ongoing comic series, with new volumes coming out every year. This is the first issue of a 3-issue story arc, with issues 2 and 3 having their own campaigns in the coming months. So, this is a good way to get on board before everyone else.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
